Of the seven currencies, only the Japanese yen and Australian dollar rose; the rest fell. The euro saw the largest drop, KRW 8.96 (0.60%).

The customs exchange rate converts a foreign-currency import price into won to set the taxable value for customs duty and VAT. Under Article 18 of Korea's Customs Act, the Commissioner of the Korea Customs Service sets it each week as the average of the basic and cross rates of the week before the week in which the import declaration is filed.
