HPAI in the Netherlands — imports of poultry and poultry products from non-free areas suspended

According to Korea's Animal and Plant Quarantine Agency (APQA), highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) broke out on poultry farms in the provinces of North Holland and Groningen in the Netherlands on October 28, 2026 (local date). Under Korea's import health requirements for Dutch poultry meat and poultry products, for EU poultry, hatching eggs and day-old chicks, and for EU table eggs, imports of poultry and poultry products originating from areas that are not HPAI-free have been suspended.
The measure covers poultry meat and poultry products, live poultry, hatching eggs and day-old chicks, and table eggs. If you are preparing poultry-related shipments of Dutch origin, first check whether the production area is recognised as HPAI-free and confirm the shipment and slaughter dates. How cargo that has already shipped is handled may depend on guidance from the quarantine authority.
