HMM and ONE switch two Asia–Mediterranean services to the Suez Canal from mid-November

Premier Alliance (PA) members HMM and Ocean Network Express (ONE) have told customers that two Asia–Mediterranean services will transit the Suez Canal.

● MD1: from the YM TRUST calling Ningbo on Nov 10 for Asia departures, and from the same vessel calling Damietta on Dec 7 for Mediterranean departures, both directions will use the Suez Canal. ● MS2 (MP2 at HMM): from the ONE SYNERGY calling Qingdao on Nov 16 for Asia departures, and from the same vessel calling Piraeus on Dec 28 for Mediterranean departures.

In October PA also returned its Asia–North Europe FE1 service to the Suez route, and ONE brought its India–North Europe IOX service back via Suez. The carriers say the change aims to shorten Asia–Mediterranean transit times.
