2026.11.02Plant quarantineWhat does plant quarantine do on site?
Cargo containing plants, such as cut flowers, seedlings, fruit or wooden packing, goes through quarantine by the Animal and Plant Quarantine Agency before customs clearance. Inspectors check the exporting country's phytosanitary certificate and examine the goods for pests; clean shipments pass, while any findings lead to treatment, return or destruction. Accurate documents and an inspection slot booked in advance keep even fresh cargo moving without delay.
2026.10.30Bonded warehouseWhat happens at a bonded warehouse (CFS)?
A CFS is where less-than-container (LCL) cargo from many shippers is loaded into and out of shared containers. On imports, the team opens the container, sorts cargo by consignee, checks quantities and packing, and holds it under customs control until clearance. On exports it works the other way, consolidating and securing cargo in the box, so clear carton marks and sound packing make the job faster and safer.

A customs broker's work begins before an import even reaches port. Working from the invoice and packing list, they check the HS classification, duty rate and FTA origin before filing the declaration, line up the inspections that food or plant cargo needs under other laws, and act for the shipper in customs examinations, refunds and appeals.
